I know I am suppose to be updating the blog and I only got to some fishing pictures from March, but I wanted to write a little about today. Sadly, there are no pictures, but I wanted to document a few things.
First, we have been without AC for 4 days now. All things considered, we are faring pretty well. Thankfully, Cody has been staying at a friend's house and left for camp today. We took the AC unit from the attic and put it in the livingroom and have been camping out there with some fans. Lots of fan, in fact. The kiddos have been sleeping on the floor, I have been on the couch and Rick has been on the floor, in the armchair and in the recliner. He finally moved a fan into the bedroom last night and got some decent sleep.
Anyway, because we have been stuck in the hot house for a few days with only swimming to distract us, when it was time for Rick to take Cody to RVR, the kiddos and I decided to tag along with them.
We followed the Kennedys over hill and dale and got to camp around 2 PM. The kiddos and I were going to wait in the van, but decided to get out and explore a bit. We found a stream near the check in cabin and I let the kiddos roll up their shorts and wade through it for a while. They skipped rocks and had a blast.
Then we got to see Cody's cabin and bunk that he will be occupying for the next few weeks. We checked out the trade store, but it was closed. We even rode up to the junior camp to show the kiddos where Kari could go next summer.
After we hugged Cody, we headed to Strewsbury, PA and stopped at an Amish market. The kiddos enjoyed picking out candy and baked goods. We sampled the pulled pork, jalapeno poppers, onion rings and potato salad. After looking at some furniture, we headed for home bringing butter toffee almonds and licorice bites with us.
When we got home, the kiddos and Rick swam for awhile then had dinner. Rick went to pick up an airconditioner that we put in the master bedroom. The kiddos are now asleep in there and it is at least 20 degrees cooler in that room.
I can not wait to go to asleep tonight!
