Our 7th Anniversary

We celebrated our 7th anniversary with a kiddo free day at the Nat1onal Zo0. It was an unusually cool day in July so most of DC was also at the zoo. We couldn't find a place to park so we ended up having to walk 6 blocks uphill to the free zoo. But, luckily for us we didn't have to pay for parking, so it was indeed free. We walked a lot, but it was worth it.

On our way to the zoo

I can't remember what kind of animal this is....a very large guinea pig, maybe?

It was a little freaky that thesen primates were not in cages, but also neat to see them roaming the trees just over our heads.....

The bald eagle

After our day at the zoo we went to W1ndows on the B@y for dinner. It is the restaurant that was the setting for our first date 7 years ago in February 2000. We had a fabulous time and the food was delicious. Except for the dessert. It was lacking, but they are not known for their desserts. They are known for their seafood and that rocked.

The appetizer - hot crab dip and bread

My dinner - grilled salmon topped with crabmeat, steamed veggies and rice

Rick's dinner - shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and steak topped with mushrooms with a side of steamed veggies and whipped potatoes

New 'Do

As you can see from this picture.....

.....Noah needed a haircut. So, Daddy and Noah got haircuts today.

Noah loves that he can "pike" his hair

And he's just so darn cute

And not at all camera shy

Every time he sees me he says, "Momma, you see my hair? You like it? I can 'pike it!"

Love that boy!

Kari's First Days of School - Part 1

Kari was so excited about school that she woke up a half hour earlier than she needed to and skipped to the table for breakfast. Thursday was the day she got to go to school with four other classmates - all boys - and get a preview of kindergarten. Friday the whole class got to attend and officially start school.

Noah's First Soccer Practice/Game

Noah is very excited about playing soccer. He was not happy when he did not get to play on Opening Day. He loves that Uncle Steve is his coach and that his friend Allie is on his team. And he actually seems to be getting an handle on how to play. Must have some of big brother Josh's athletic talent.
