Trip to the BSO

Kari's class went to the BSO before Thanksgiving break. We rode the lightrail into the city. Kari loved riding the "train". We saw a concert about opposites. Kari enjoyed the Tubby the Tuba story best. I think watching Little Einsteins helped Kari recongize some of the instruments and sounds. It was a neat field trip.

Waiting to ride the "train".

A picture of the orchestra before they said we
couldn't use flash photography. Oops!

Waiting for the concert to start.

The really big screws on the ceiling that Kari
thought were really cool.

The JM Symphony Hall.

A Jenni sandwich on the train on the way back
to the station.

Logan, Jenni and Kari thought it was cool to
look out and see the tracks.

Thanksgiving at Preschool

Kari's class celebrated Thanksgiving on November 17th. Kari's class dressed as Indians, while the other class was the Pilgrims.

The pirate ship in the playground became the
Mayflower.

Here are the Pilgrims when they landed.

The Indians welcomed them to the New World.

Each Indian took a Pilgrim friend
back to the classroom.

Here is Whispering Owl (the students
picked their own names).

The Pilgrims and Indians sang Pow Wow
before eating their feast.

Their feast consisted of pumpkin pie, corn on
the cob, apple sauce and popcorn.

Here are the fearless leaders!

Papa and Nana's Visit

Papa and Nana came to visit a few weekends ago. They flew in on Friday night. Saturday ended up being an uncharacteristically warm November day. Kari and Noah enjoyed showing them the "playground".

Kari loves to swing, especially barefooted.

I love this picture of Noah. He looks so happy!

Not sure what Papa and Noah were looking at
down the road.

I love this shot of the house and Papa and Noah
on the front porch.

Saturday night we went to dinner at a local diner. Here are some shots as we waited for our dessert.

Poppy, Grammie and Kari pose for a picture.

Cody in his new Texas sweatshirt from Papa and Nana.

Close up shot of Josh.

Kari with an chocolate Italian icecream mustache and gotee.

When we got back to the house we celebrated Papa's birthday. It was on November 1.

On Sunday, it was rainy and cold outside, but
sunny and smiley inside.

Even though it was raining, Rick grilled pork
chops for lunch.

Nana made her amazing baked beans and.......

.....and delicious apple crisp!

Papa, Nana and Kari did a hidden picture puzzle
while they waited for lunch.

Here's a picture taken before Papa and Nana
headed to the airport.

It was a quick, but good visit. We all were so glad they were able to come and see us.

Mickey Mouse's Birthday

Kar's class celebrated Mickey Mouse's birthday on November 8. They marched into the auditorium with instruments to the song "Who's the Leader of the Band?". Remember the old Mickey Mouse club? It was too cute.

This picture is a bit dark. Kari had a tamborine.

They were waiting to do roll call.

All of the pictures look a bit blurry. They
were singing and dancing the whole time.

More singing and dancing. Rossi (to the R) is really
getting into it, huh?

Mickey was even there for the celebration.

There was even a big cake! Too bad it
wasn't real.

Kari's Halloween Parade

Kari's class had a Halloween parade at school.

She was between Superman and a racecar driver.

I love the homemade fish next to the lion.

Mrs. Kathie was appropriately the Cat in the Hat.

They sang songs about pumpkins and such. Then
it was time to start the school day.

Halloween 2006

Here are some pictures of Halloween.

Kari as "Ariel the Mermaid".

Noah as "Spiderman".

Ready to go. Noah is checking out the candy
Grammie gave him.

At every house, Noah said "treat or treat" and
"thank you much". So cute and polite.

Cool night time picture.

Noah and Kari tried on Grammie's
clown wig.
